The Pinewood PTC board is frequently on campus, and we love engaging with our parent community. We often receive recurring questions regarding building policies, procedures, and general communications. To better support you, we have compiled this resource page to help you quickly find the information you need. Staying informed and involved in your child’s education sends a powerful message that learning is a priority, which encourages students to apply themselves and reach their full potential. Maintaining open communication between home and school is essential to your student's success at Pinewood Elementary. You child teacher will go over ways to stay in touch, they may or may not be included on the following list. Please utilize the following channels to ensure you stay informed and connected:

Take-Home Folders

• Every student uses a daily folder for two-way communication. Please check it each day for school-wide announcements, completed work, and notes from staff. You are encouraged to use this folder to send notes to your child’s teacher as well.

Class Dojo

• • Many teachers use Class Dojo for regular classroom updates. Please check the app frequently, as school-wide announcements are occasionally shared there as well.

Update Family Contact Information

• • Please ensure your email address, phone number, and directory data are current with the school administration. If your contact information differs from what is on file, you may miss important email notifications.

Contact Staff Directly

• • Use the "Staff Directory" button above to contact teachers and staff members via phone or email.

Main Line and Attendance

• • For urgent messages or general questions during the school day, please call the main office at (586) 439-4405. 

  • To report an absence, call the main line, press 4, and provide your student's name, teacher’s name, the reason for the absence, and the estimated date of return.

Protected Information Communications

• • Periodically, the district will send communications containing sensitive student data. To access these, you will need your student's unique ID number. This number remains the same throughout their entire career at Warren Woods. We recommend saving this ID number in a secure note on your phone so you can easily access these communications without waiting for a separate email.
